Brighton Blog Post

Recently I spent a couple of days with my sister in Brighton where she lives, I had such a lovely time with my sister as we don’t see each other often because she works lots and she lives 3 hours away. I took loads of photos over the days I was there and I want to share them with you. Thank you for such a lovely weekend Livvie, can’t wait till we can do it again!

I travelled to down to Brighton with my sister on Sunday late afternoon, it took us 3 hours to get there after having a quick starbucks stop, of course!

When we got there we had a really chilled evening, watching X Factor and drinking cups of tea. I also played the Jelly Bean, Been Boozled Challenge with my sister and her flat mate, Steph. We had such a laugh trying all the gross flavours of jelly beans even though we felt sick afterwards! We went to sleep later that night after watching the X Factor Final (how amazing was Louisa, such a worthy winner!)

On Monday we headed into town to do some very important shopping, Christmas shopping! Firstly we headed into the North Laines and I popped into a couple of shops including the ‘The Bluebird Tea Company’ where I bought snowball tea and ‘Oliver Bonas' where I bought some christmas presents. After I came out of ‘The Bluebird Tea Company’ I realised I walked past Zoe ‘Zoella’ and Louise ‘Sprinkle of Glitter’, so of course, being me I became a little starstruck and got too nervous and ask for a photo! Luckily, my sister knew that I’d regret being silly and not seeing them so we went back to them and she asked them if they would have a photo, of course, they said yes and I am so pleased that I got a one! (And Darcy is the cutest human ever!)

Later on, we headed into ‘Bagelman’ and I had a Poppy seed bagel with houmous, avocado and salad inside, and as you can see, I was really enjoying it! Bagelman is such a chilled out little cafe and I really like it, you can tell that all their food is really good quality too!

Later on throughout the day we had a little Costa break because we’d been shopping for quite a while now and needed a coffee stop. I had a salted caramel cappuccino and my sister had a white hot chocolate; and they were delicious.

Later that evening, we had booked a meal out at ‘Sushi Mania’ and oh my goodness, it was so so good. ‘Sushi Mania’ is literally a mixture of ‘Yo Sushi’ and ‘Wagamamas’ which is HEAVEN! I love both of these restaurants so having one that combines some of each of them is my kind of perfection. And the food looks just delicious

At 9:00 we headed along to the cinema because we wanted to watch ‘Christmas With the Coopers’, which I have to say, was quite a good film. It wasn't what I expected, I thought it would be a comedy, but it wasn’t really. It told the story of a family at Christmas, but what I really liked was that it was like a ‘real’ family. It didn’t show the family like a typical movie family, it portrayed them as a very real family that you see in everyday life.
I watched this with my sister and Steph and we all had a good laugh together, especially in the car on the way home!

We had a really chilled morning on Tuesday and left the house at midday and headed straight to the pier, even though it was quite a chilly, blustery day! My sister Livvie, Steph and I did very typical, touristy things, even though we aren’t! We played on the 2p machines (of course) and it took me ages to get rid of mine, every time I put my last 2p into the machine, a load more fell out the bottom!

We then headed into ‘Palm Court’, the fish and chip restaurant on the pier. I had such a delicious plate of scampi and chips, just like my sister did and Steph had a chip butty and onion rings! It was delicious, and of course, we had a lot of laughs talking about anything and with Steph being so funny, it wasn't hard for us to burst into giggles every couple of minutes!

While Steph went off to her driving lesson, my sister and I went on a lovely walk along the beach. We didn’t really know why we did this but it was a lot of fun! We played a little game where we stood close to the sea and waited for a wave to come and then we’d run away so we didn’t get soaked when it reached us. Childish, but so so much fun; and it’s okay to be childish sometimes :)

Later on we wandered back to the car and parked it somewhere else as we knew that we were heading into Brighton. We had booked ice skating for 4:15-5:15 because we knew it would be so much fun and it really was. But first of all we headed for the South Lanes and to my favourite place ever. ‘Angel Bakery’! If you haven’t heard of Angel Bakery and you live in Brighton, you have to go! It is the most AMAZING cupcake shop ever ever ever! I had a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting and omg it was the most delicious thing I have ever tasted!
As you can see by the photo I was a little soaked. We had to walk through the pouring rain to get into the lanes and I was very lucky because my coat had a hood, unlike my sister’s!

After finishing off in Angel Bakery, we wandered into town, still in the pouring rain, to pop into a couple of shops before going ice skating. As we got to ice skating we were absolutely drenched! It was pelting it down by this point and unfortunately for us, the ice skating was outside. However, being the optimists we are, we decided that it would be quite fun in the pouring rain and we decided to embrace it, eventually I gave on my hood and just let my hair get soaked. Not even joking, there was a layer of water on top of the ice and when someone fell over, they slid across the middle of the ice rink! I did feel sorry for them because they stood up, absolutely drenched, but I think they found it funny so it was okay!

Tuesday night was my last night in Brighton and we were too tired to go out for a meal, so we decided to order in food so that we didn’t have to get ready again after we showered. We ordered in Pizza Hut and we shared a Margarita pizza, this is quite unlike me as I’m usually super healthy and very rarely have takeaways, my sister was really shocked when I said that I’d like pizza! It was so nice to be able to sit in and have a lovely time eating pizza watching my favourite ever film on the TV, The Holiday! It’s such a fantastic film, I totally recommend watching it if you haven’t already.

On Wednesday morning my dad arrived to pick me up at 8:30. I didn’t get ready that morning because I knew I was just travelling home. We left my sisters at 9:30 and started our journey back to Norfolk. Unfortunately, we got stuck in a traffic jam which made out journey an hour longer than it should have been :(. Eventually when we got through it we stopped off at some services for a little bit of lunch and a drink. I ordered a Toffee Nut Latter from Starbucks and had a Falafel and Halloumi hot wrap from Tossed. It was really good and just what I needed! Finally we made it home, 4 hours and 10 minutes later! It was a long journey but we made the most of it by listening to ‘Smooth XMAS’ on the radio and many different playlists from my phone, including a lot of McBusted!

I really enjoyed my time away in Brighton with my sister and can’t wait to do it again!
Have you been away any where for a long weekend? Are you planning to?

Thanks,

Tasha xx
